Galaxy Note 3 Might Pack An ‘Unbreakable’ Screen Rumours
Both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note are immensely popular among hordes of Android fans, and with the South Korean vendor releasing them at different points during any given year, one only has to wait a couple of months to see a brand new Galaxy handset. With the Galaxy S4 now announced pending release next month, attentions will naturally turn to the larger, so-called “phablet” Galaxy Note III, and according to a report from Korean publication Asiae.co.kr, the device will pack an “unbreakable” display.
Many aspects of the smartphone have been improved across the board in the past few years, but, even though the likes of Apple and Samsung have sought to strengthen displays with each new device, the shattered screen is still something owners fear.
According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy Note III will release later this year, and one of the marquee features may well be an unbreakable display. Apparently, Samsung will incorporate some kind of flexible AMOLED technology in order to prevent display shattering, a problem affecting thousands of dropped devices.
The display could also, meanwhile, measure in at a whopping 5.9-inches, and one has to wonder – despite the cellular connectivity and full smartphone functionality, whether it can still, in actual fact, be categorized as smartphone. Lest we forget, the smaller tablets in the market measure in at the 7-inch mark, but with a near 6-inch offering in the form of the Note III, the “phablet” description has perhaps never been more appropriate.
In addition to being an incredibly large and robust display, it’s also expected to pack in a 1080p resolution akin to the Galaxy S4. The Exynos 5 Octa-Core processor, said to be hitting around a third of the initial Galaxy S4 shipments, will also be a feature, along with 2GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera, and a larger battery, says the report.
It is thought the Note III will ship with Android 4.2.2, but with 5.0 Key Lime Pie set to be launched at Google’s I/O, it’s feasible the Note III may instead be among the first to deliver the latest firmware by default.

Cherry Mobile Omega 5 3 inch Android
Cherry Mobile has announced that it will be releasing thee new phones this December 2012. You have two new Android phones running on Ice Cream Sandwich with 4.5-inch and 4.7-inch displays and a 5.3-inch Android monster phone running on Jelly Bean. Most of the interest has focused on the JellyBean powered monster.
This 5.3-inch phone is rumored to be a rebranded Zopo ZP900 upgraded with Android 4.1 JellyBean. There are two variants of the ZP900 for sale abroad, one with 512 MB of RAM and a 5 MP camera and the others with 1 GB of RAM and an 8 MP camera. Given that the local version will be running JellyBean, we expect the 1 GB model.
The other specifications are typical of entry level phones with a dual core processor on a MediaTek chipset, 4 GB of internal storage, MicroSD card slow, WiFi, HSPA, GPS and Bluetooth. The battery is a decent sized 2300 mAh unit. The display is what everyone is interested in. It should be a 5.3-inch IPS display with a qHD (540 x 960) screen resolution.
Now the phone looks suspiciously familiar. Yup it looks like a Samsung Galaxy S III/Note II. Down to having a physical button. Here is to hoping the Cherry Mobile version has all capacitative buttons, or even better yet, on screen buttons.
The Zopo ZP900 with 1 GB of RAM and an 8MP camera sells for US$239 abroad. So you can expect local pricing to be in about the 10K range.
Than again, it might not be the Zopo ZP900.

LG unveils gorgeous new HDTV models with Google TV 3 0
Google TV, one of Google’s less popular products. But yet there are still many users of Google TV out there. Some of the more popular models are the Vizio Costar and the Hisense Pulse (just announced days ago). Now LG is showing off a few new Google TV models that will hit the market next year. Before, LG only had a 47-inch and a 55-inch Google TV model. Starting next year LG will have a 42-inch, 50-inch and a 60-inch model to choose from. These new Google TV’s are also ultra-thin and use the Motorola Droid Razr M’s idea of edge-to-edge display. As you can see from the image above, there’s almost nothing but screen there.
Currently Google TV 3.0 hasn’t been detailed yet, but that won’t keep LG from touting it with these new Google TV models. So we can’t tell you what all the features are in Google TV 3.0, but be rest assured that it’ll be awesome. Although we did hear that it would include some very cool voice actions in the new version. But we’ll probably have to wait until CES next month to really know more about Google TV 3.0.
